On February 7, 2024, Simultaneity, a bay filly by Justify out of Lottie by Arch, made her racing debut at Delta Downs in a Maiden Special Weight race for three-year-old fillies over six and one-half furlongs.
Ridden by jockey Vicente Del-Cid and trained by Thomas M. Amoss for owner Highlander Training Center, Simultaneity was the post-time favorite at odds of 0.30. She lived up to her billing, vying for the early lead and saving ground around the final turn. In the stretch, she pulled away from the field convincingly to secure her maiden victory by 3 1/2 lengths, stopping the clock in a final time of 1:22.14.
Simultaneity was bred in Kentucky by Jack Swain III and was purchased for $175,000 as a yearling at the Keeneland September sale by Shepherd Equine Advisers, acting as agent for Larry Hirsch of Highlander Training Center. This win marks a promising start to her racing career, with earnings now totaling $21,000.
The race, held under cloudy skies on a fast track, saw Simultaneity showcase her talent against a field of competitors that included Mrs. Katz and Chasing Summer, who finished second and third, respectively. With this win, her career statistics are an ideal one-for-one.
Simultaneity’s next steps on the track will be eagerly anticipated by those who follow the promising careers of young thoroughbreds.
