SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — June 6, 2025
Vehemente continued her strong 2025 campaign with an authoritative 3¼-length victory in a New York-bred allowance optional claiming race on Friday at Saratoga Racecourse. The $100,000 contest was run at seven furlongs on a fast main track.

Trained by Joe Sharp and ridden confidently by Kendrick Carmouche, Vehemente tracked the early pace from third, advanced around the far turn, and took the lead near the quarter pole. Despite remaining on her left lead through the stretch, the chestnut filly drew off under strong handling to secure her fourth career win.
Owned by International Equine and bred by Hibiscus Stables, the 3-year-old daughter of Vekoma out of Resoundingly (by Stormy Atlantic) stopped the clock in 1:23.35 and earned an 85 Equibase Speed Figure, her highest to date.
Vehemente was purchased for $40,000 by Shepherd Equine Advisers, agent for International Equine, at the 2022 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Mixed Sale, where she was consigned by Hibiscus Sales.
Sent off as the 1.90-to-1 favorite in a field of nine, Vehemente returned $5.80 to win. She has now won three of five starts in 2025 and has finished in the money in all of them. Her seasonal earnings stand at $146,400, with career totals of 4 wins from 9 starts and $201,050 in purse money.
She previously scored in allowance company at Belmont at the Big A and Aqueduct earlier this spring. Her connections have not yet announced plans for her next start.
