Starting as the favorite with odds of 0.80-1, Mighty Message was positioned within striking distance throughout the race. He moved up on the outside around the final turn and made a wide bid, securing his win by 2 3/4 lengths.
Foaled on April 11, 2021, Mighty Message was bred by Edward A. Seltzer & Beverly S. Seltzer. Shepherd Equine Advisers, acting as an agent for Larry Hirsch of Highlander Training Center, purchased the colt at the OBSAPR sale for $230,000.
Prior to his victory at Delta Downs, Mighty Message had raced at Churchill Downs on November 12, 2023, where he finished ninth, and at Fair Grounds on December 16, 2023, where he finished fifth. His earnings now total $23,865.
